WHO WE ARE
Established in 2003, AVID Designs is an Architectural / Design Build firm with 10 years of New York City Architectural experience and 15 years construction experience, dedicated to the specific needs of the individual client.
Adaptable: There is no “Typical client”. Each particular client & project brings to the (drafting) table a unique set of challenges and issues. Our first goal is to be Adaptable, to merge the needs and desires of the client with the realities of the site and budget.
Visionary: Some clients know that they want before they call, some clients don’t have any idea what they want or need to make their project an extension of themselves. Our experience and background helps us bring their vision out of the ether and into reality
Integrated: It's one thing to say, “I need a house”, “ Bigger bedroom,” or “More storage space for my facility”; but to integrate all the behind the scenes systems: Mechanicals, Building Code and Zoning Issues is quite another. Our extensive Construction and Architectural background helps mix together the things a typical client doesn’t even know he should be worrying about. We worry about those things so you don’t have to!
Dimensional: A project is like a puzzle; sure you can take a hammer and smash the pieces together or cut them with a scissors to get them to fit but that isn’t going to give you the result you are looking for and not the way we do business. Our experience helps us see the boarders, corners and all the other layers and dimensions of a project to make certain that in then end, it will be the right solution of each clients particular needs.

Jeff Geary
Founder & CEO
AVID Designs is managed by its founder Jeffrey Geary. Jeffrey earned a bachelor’s degree from New York Institute of Technology in 1997, majoring in Architecture. Since then, Jeffrey has worked in architectural design and construction management, in Architectural and Design/Build firms in both Manhattan and Staten Island. In 2003, he founded AVID Designs with the purpose of building a firm focused on delivering a full suite of construction services.
James M. Carroll
Architect
Jim joined the firm in 2017, with 30 years’ experience in architecture and residential interiors. He holds a master’s and bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Miami, as well as a bachelor’s from the New York Institute of Technology. He has also studied Architecture at the University of Pavia (Italy). Jim is an accredited member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, and a member of the AIA, ICAA, and INTBAU.
Lori Baggs
Office Manager
Lori Baggs joined the AVID Designs team in 2007 and has since worked as AVID’s Office Manager. Lori graduated from the Grace Institute in 1991, and currently enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and sports, including motorcycling, hiking, rollerblading, and basketball.
ARLENE LANZANTE
Bookkeeper
Arlene Lanzante graduated from Brooklyn College with a two-year degree in accounting, and has worked as a bookkeeper for 50 years in both Manhattan and Staten Island. Her experience in bookkeeping includes work at various accounting firms and private corporations. Arlene enjoys gardening, playing mahjong, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Cinnamon
Mascot
Office mascot and watchdog, Cinnamon has been a member of the AVID team since 2014. In her spare time, Cinnamon enjoys greeting visitors with ebullience, and finishing the rest of the team’s food.
